I have about five minutes to write, and it's been a full day filled with family and Thanksgiving prep. But, here are some things that I want to remember from today:
*The kids playing hide-n-seek and eating challah french toast at their great-grandmother's house.
*A long cousin hang. Our kids got to play with cousins right around their age, who they don't normally see, and we got a nice chance to catch up. I'm very grateful they made the time to drive down and spend the time together.
*Cooking my grandma's stuffing recipe. I love making the same recipe every year--it brings me back to childhood where we spent every Thanksgiving at her house. Tasting it as I cook makes me feel connected to her even though she passed away over a decade ago.
*Playing games with my brother and sister-in-law. It was a fun mystery-solving game called "Here Lies."
*Going for walks everyday in the tudor-inspired neighborhood nearby.
Hold on to these moments as tightly as you can. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving! I love the Tudor house, and enjoy some recipes from my childhood as well. My grandma’s fruit salad rescued me when I couldn’t manage her dry turkey, canned and boxed everything else.
ReplyDeleteHi Sam, a wonderful list! We have some Tudor houses in our neighborhood and I’m always intrigued by them. My neighbors claim they are not very warm and don’t get a lot of light (very few windows). I love them though. We have a colonial style house, but two houses down there is a Tudor. They look lovely in winter and fall.
